Khao Lak, Thailand

Khao Lak Thailand

Khao Lak is a collection of now tourism-focused villages located mainly in the Takua Pa District and partly in the Thai Mueang District of Phang Nga Province, Thailand. The name “Khao Lak” literally means “Lak Mountain.” Lak Mountain is one of the main peaks in the small hilly mountain range within Khao Lak–Lam Ru National Park. Khao Lak is known for its peaceful, laid-back atmosphere and is a major departure point for liveaboard scuba diving trips to the Similan Islands. It lies north of the island of Phuket along Phetkasem Road, one of Thailand’s four main highways.
