Khao Lak is a collection of villages, now geared towards tourism, mainly in Takua Pa District and partly in Thai Mueang District of Phang Nga Province, Thailand. It’s popular for its peaceful atmosphere and as a departure point for liveaboard scuba diving trips to the Similan Islands. Khao Lak lies north of the island of Phuket along Phetkasem Road, one of the four main highways in Thailand. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS - Lampi Waterfall – a very scenic waterfall. - Khao Lak–Lam Ru National Park. - Chong Fah Waterfall. - Cheow Lan Lake and Ratchaprapha Dam – superb views over the lake towards the limestone ridges. - Khao Sok National Park – nature activities including jungle trekking on foot or by elephant, visiting waterfalls, and river rafting/canoeing.
